Awesome book store find!

I got myself a Douay Rheims translation at the book store today. Very excited!

I flipped through it and noticed that there’s 1, 2, 3 and 4 Kings. I’m supposing that this is just a different division of the content rather than additional content? I think I remember reading that the books used to be divided this way (I thought this pre-existed the DR), but I’m not 100%.

I think in that version 1 and 2 Kings are the same as 1 and 2 Samuel in the RSV.

1&2 Kings in the DR are 1&2 Samuel. 3&4 Kings in the DR are 1&2 Kings in other translations

Haha it sounds like you got yourself quite an awesome find. It sounds like it would be really fascinating to read a physical copy of such an old and authentic translation.
