Backwards scapulars

This Sunday at Mass, I noticed two different people who had brown scapulars backwards around their neck (hanging down their back). Does this indicate something? Is it some sort of tradition? I’m not a scapular wearer so I don’t know.

I’m guessing someone is either uncomfortable/embarrassed with the scapular hanging in the front or their trying to make some fashion statment.

Are you sure there wasn’t a square brown cloth in the front also? Generally scapulars have a piece of wool in the front and the back.

Oh OK that would explain it. I didn’t realize there was a piece on the front and back.
