Is this Biblical evidence that a donkey’s body would be able to accept a rational soul? That a donkey’s brain is sufficient to operate the the power of Intellection

Numbers 22
28 Then the Lord opened the mouth of the donkey, and it said to Balaam, “What have I done to you, that you have struck me these three times?” 29 Balaam said to the donkey, “Because you have made a fool of me! I wish I had a sword in my hand! I would kill you right now!” 30 But the donkey said to Balaam, “Am I not your donkey, which you have ridden all your life to this day? Have I been in the habit of treating you this way?” And he said, “No.”

Maybe it wasn’t a literal donkey but just a story which conveyed Truth

That’s true and so this doesn’t pertain to philosophy does it?

I don’t know why you’d think just because an animal could speak doesn’t mean he’d understand or possess a human soul.

Maybe it’s just a story but still the assumption doesn’t have to be that something that talks has a soul

Well I’ve wondered if the human brain has something special about it that the power to reason can operate or if intellect is entirely about the soul

The ability to communicate doesn’t mean the ability to reason. Siri can communicate but can’t reason.

The thing on iPhones that talk to you and answers questions.

An organic body that is communicating in a way that requires Intellect.

iphone can’t be infused with a soul. I guess God can.

The soul is what gives us the power to have intellect, but the brain utilizes that power to allow us to use it.
That is what I was wondering. If the intellect requires a human brain or if other animal brains could if God created one for them.

That was meant to lighten the conversation , so I hope you didn’t think I’m too stupid.

But seriously. I really wish they’d talk.

No not at all. it would be nice if animals could talk…scary at first…

The human soul, which is responsible for our intellect and will, does not depend on the human body to exist. But it does depend on the human body in order to act out or put into action these abilities (the will and intellect), and that is because God designed us as body/soul composites; not just souls with bodies, not just bodies with souls. We are both put together. Two parts of a whole. That is why the brain seems to be responsible for the power we assign to the soul (intellect and will).

If God had wanted to create other animals with rational souls, he could.
I see, we won’t see another rational animal unless God puts another one on earth or another planet
