So while I was sitting in church today, I was thinking about the future of my life. And it got pretty overwhelming honestly. My question is really short, sweet and to the point. I know God is the foundation of our lives. But how do you people balance faith, marriage, family, kids, work, finances? Ill admit im only 23. But it seems a little daunting to keep all in balance.

I know God is the foundation of our lives. But how do you people balance faith, marriage, family, kids, work, finances? Ill admit im only 23. But it seems a little daunting to keep all in balance.

Just keeping praying for perserverence, attending Mass and receiving the sacraments. This will give you the strength and fortitude you need.

You would be surprised how much having to manage all of it teaches you how to manage it.

A strong faith life and relationship with God, family and friends you can rely on (not just people you hang out with), and healthy coping behaviors are enormously beneficial and are things you can work on now that will build a good foundation for what comes later. There’s also a limited amount (especially with regards to marriage and raising children) you can learn now without being “in the trenches” that will make it easier when those things come.

I would have figured I’d be pretty much the same person through my 20s. Maybe a little more maturation, but at a much slower rate than my childhood and teens. I married at 23, had my first child at 24, and my second at 26. I turn 27 in a little over a week and I would say I’m almost a completely different person than I was at your age - and 99.99999% of the changes I’ve gone through (in terms of personal development) have been for the better.
