Sedes get banned more than anything from Fisheaters in my experience.
The site is not worthy of attention by those who wish to conform their hearts, minds and conscience to the authentic teaching of the Church.

VII introduced no new teachings and VII is accepted as a valid council by Fisheaters.

I don’t see how even if VII were rejected it would mean that the authentic teachings of the Church are impeded by that site.

The Church is tradition. There are no sacred traditions not worth following.

About a banned sites list, I’m for it. It would stop this slanderous threads from popping up. It only makes this forum look bad.
 
Personally I find fisheaters to be a great site, forum included, and one I go to when I get tired of some of the political correctness that is so prevalent on many other Catholic forums.

I see FE as much like a family; the mods are very ‘hands off’ and let us argue, debate, joke, hassle, and criticize left and right (look up the Algonquin Round Table, same feel). It’s good - it leads to a fuller and richer understanding of Catholicism as we dive deeper into Canon Law, Scripture, Tradition, and trying to live the Sacramental life. Many of the posters have a very impolite sense of humor, and no bones about it you can’t have a thin skin and post there, but that’s what I love. If you want direct, unfiltered traditional Catholicism you can’t beat fisheaters - you’ll get unadulterated facts (with sources). Sometimes I need a smack with a two-by-four (they have a smiley for that there…it’s a fish) and I can get it from FE. Just as in real life, my sister might smack me for doing something. Sometimes you just want to joke around with people who have some of the same frustrations and experiences as you - and those on the ‘outside’ who haven’t had those frustrations will see it as being hypersensitive or ‘extremist’ I guess.

Well, as we all know, it’s better to be extreme than lukewarm. I’ll label myself extremist if loving the fish tank makes me one. :rolleyes:

The CAF staff has found it necessary at times to designate certain subjects as “banned” because (a) it appeared that it was causing members to lose charity, and (b) we simply don’t have the staff to clean up the big messes that would result. “Banning” such a subject acts as a cooling off mechanism. One might think of it as removing an occasion for sin.

Such subjects are usually designated in the “stickies” for each particular forum.

In as much as the question posed in the OP was answered and the thread has begun wandering back to the subject of yesterday’s closed thread…
