Hi,

My husband and I, both Latin Rite, attend a Byzantine Parish part time. I was baptized in the Latin Rite and Chrismated in the Byzantine Rite. We are having our 4th child Baptized and Chrismated in the Byzantine Church this Sunday and have decided to have our older children Chrismated as well. As I understand it, all of our children will remain Latin Rite. Is this correct? If my husband or I should formally change Rites at some point, would they have to as well, or would their Rite automatically change with ours?

If they are under 14, yes, they change automatically, and may opt to go back to Latin rite later in their life.

and yes, they are still canonically enrolled in the Roman Church until you (or if they are 14+, they) change enrollment.
