Thanks for your response. I have a second question about a marriage rather than a baptism. My good friend and his wife are on a journey back to the Catholic Church of their childhood (they have been away maybe 5 or 6 years). Both have been baptized and have received the Sacraments of initiation in the Latin Church. They have children and have no previous marriages. Over the last few months they have been coming to the Divine Liturgy with my wife and our children. Both are drawn to the Ruthenian Church and are talking about having their marriage convalidated.
My question is this, first, they are both Latin Catholics. Can they have a marriage convalidated in the Eastern Church, in this case the Ruthenian Church, even though they are Latin?
(I’m sure I can speak to our parish priest but this was just on my mind
)
