Here is my baptism beefs thread:
  1. Picking inappropriate pop culture names. What happened to the saints?
  2. Picking godparents who are canonically impeded from being godparents eg. divorced and remarried etc.
  3. Photographs galore.
  4. Parents who show up for the baptism and then don’t show up again till the next baptism, yet claim they will be active from now on.
  5. Parents having their third child baptized and they are not married yet.
  6. Parents of mixed religion who have the child baptized and then take him/her to a Protestant church.
  7. A Catholic parent who won’t go to bat to have the child baptized in the Catholic faith.
  8. Non-catholic spouses who say they have no objection to raising the child Catholic during pre-cana, but then change their mind afterward.
  9. Treating it like a cutsie event.
  10. Objecting to the use of Father, Son, and Holy Spirit as “sexist”.
 
TO fix number 9, tell them a St.John Vianney or an elder Irish Catholic ghetto priest from tje 1950’s styled sermon on the importance of Baptism.To fix the last one,number ten, give the child the baptism in Latin or possibly Arabic.
