Tomorrow is my 38th anniversary of my baptism! I was 21 (almost 22) and little did I know the adventures God would lead me thru at that point in my life! I actually had to walk to church because we had had a very heavy snowstorm that weekend…

Do you all celebrate your baptism anniversaries?

I was baptized in the Episcopal Church on October 31, 2010. I was around fifteen years old.

Now I am 22 and on my way to becoming Catholic! No, I don’t do anything special for my baptism day. My baptism day is on Halloween. So it’s easy to remember.

We had two in our family this week! We light the kids’ baptism candles, dad leads us all in renewing our baptismal promises, we throw holy water at the person who we are celebrating, and they get to blow out their candle. We totally somehow missed it today, but we usually sing “Happy Baptism” as well.

I generally quietly celebrate the anniversary of my Baptism, which was 10 days after my birth. This year the day fell on a Saturday and that day I was able to witness a Baptism in our church and celebrate the Sacrament of Reconciliation afterwards. I shared this information with the priest at the time who seemed as delighted as I was.

If I go out with friends on the day I mention the anniversary when we sit down to dinner.
