So, I agree that it is important to know that it is Christ, who is merciful and loving that will be the one judging us. Yes, absolutely. When I affirm that Christ will judge the living and the dead, the imortant part to me is that it is Christ who will judge. It does not matter that much that there will be a judgment; what matters is that Christ will be with us.
And again, you are apparently a follow of Christ. There are those who are not and are actually very hostile towards Him, so it is not such a comfort to them and I have heard people laugh and scorn at the mention of judgment. They, at least at this point of their lives, find no comfort in the thought.
Yes, this is the one who will be our Judge. The one who died for all of our sins. The one whose passion and death brought salvation to the world. Yes, absolutely.the Judge will be someone who was reviled and repudiated, who was hungry and poor, naked and in prison.
Not someone, but Jesus, God. I don’t understand how you can find that odd, we say it every Sunday in our creed: He will come again in gloryI actually find it rather odd that you repeatedly assert that someone will be judging
to judge the living and the dead.
It is part of our Catholic faith.
Also, Jesus gave us warnings of the judgment also:
But I say unto you, that every idle word that men shall speak, they shall render an account for it in the day of judgment. For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.
How are these things odd?
