Strange going ons at Mattel:
Barbie promoting gender confusion?

A third gender choice available to young participants of a poll on the Barbie doll website was changed after initially offering children the options of “I am a Girl,” “I am a Boy,” and “I don’t know” – eliciting charges that Mattel, the company that owns Barbie, is intentionally promoting gender confusing among kids.

This story has actually hit the MSM. Here is a link:
Barbie Accused of Being Part of the Transgender Movement

Was it an “innocent oversite”?

There was some reason they put that option on there because no kid who can read doesn’t know if they are a boy or a girl. To promote gender confusion? I don’t know. But there was SOME reason. No?

Yeah that is really weird…maybe its for hermaphrodites? (edit) Oh wait if you read the article I think thats a valid story about how it should have said “I don’t want to say.” Thats an option I often see on polls,as young childrens parents might not want them to give out personal info. I buy the story.

I thought Barbie dolls were toys for little kids to play with. When did they become a political issue? The fact that this even came up is nuts.

As far as the article goes, I believe Mattel. I think it was just a way for a kid to not have to say whether they were a boy or girl. Think about it. If a boy plays with Barbies, do you really think he’s anxious to brag about it? He’ll be more likely to go on the website if he doesn’t have to say he’s a boy playing with Barbies. Like it or not, that’s the stigmatism. Boys don’t play with dolls. The ones who do, aren’t in a hurry to advertise it.
