It has always been the light festival, it represents the beginning of the new season and coincides with the longest day of the year. On June 21 at the Bari Cathedral, on the occasion of the Summer Solstice, at 17:10 the sun’s rays coincide perfectly with the circular picture of the rosette drawn on the floor in front of the altar. An event every year attracts hundreds of faithful and curious: even on this occasion the parish organized a series of activities and shows before and after the event

I work with a “born again Pagan” who goes in for these kind of events. While they can be intellectually beautiful, it falls into the same category as viewing another “other religion” celebration.

According to Wikipedia, Bari Cathedral is Roman Catholic. Was it a Catholic service? I couldn’t tell.

If it is a Catholic service, I don’t see a problem. If not, I’d be upset that a non-Catholic service was held in a Catholic church.

If it’s no longer a Catholic church, I suppose they can do whatever they want with it. In Pittsburgh, they’ve been known to turn them into brew pubs.
