I received my new Baronius Press Roman Missal (1962), Summorum Pontificum edition, last Saturday (11/3) via tracked USPS Media Mail here to Southern California from a warehouse in Pennsylvania. It’s the black leather edition.

Overall, I’m very impressed. In the past, I’d used my grandfather’s old St. Joseph Daily Missal (c)1961, which while very good in the ordinary section (perhaps better – more user-friendly – than the Baronius/Angelus style of the ordinary?), didn’t have the Latin of any of the propers. Glad to finally be able to see that, if only to be able to ensure I’m reading the correct translation.

The binding is very nice and strong while the leather will need some softening up (from years of use, preferably!).

The artwork is fantastic.

The calendar goes up to A.D. 2066 and it’s thinner than I was expecting (same amount of pages but thinner stock): 1-3/4".

Still figuring out best use for those 6 ribbon markers.

Does any one else have any thoughts on this new edition?

In Christ,
mp

Well you can use them to separate morning prayers and evening prayers. Use one for the Mass, and one or two for readings and favorite prayers. Try not to use prayer cards, as book marks. You got plenty of ribbons.👍
