Battling Bulimia

Hello CAF Community,

I am hoping that you could all offer some prayers for me.

I have been sturggling with bulimia and I will be entering an intensive day treatment program for the third time in a year to try to get better. Things have just gotten worse and worse…

I am trying to hold onto faith and hope and remember that Christ is always walking with me.

My priest has helped me so much during this time - and today he gave me a relic of Bl. Teresa of Calcutta. He told me that he was given this relic while in Rome, and it had helped in protecting and keeping a sick infant safe. He said that I should keep it with me and allow Mother Teresa to help me and be my guide.

I just want to ask you all for your prayers that I may given strength.
 
God bless your kind priest! I’m sure he’s praying for you.
It’s just been announced that a kinswoman of mine has been named a Saint, the first of my country to be beatified and now her canonization is certain. Her name is Saint Mary MacKillop. abc.net.au/news/stories/2010/02/20/2825469.htm
I ask her prayers for you too. She helped people in many ordinary human difficulties.
 
Praying for you! I went through a similar program last summer- it isn’t always easy but it is WORTH it. And always remember you are WORTH it. If you every need anything please contact me!

My prayers are with you! With God’s help, one day at a time, you will beat this! I have been recovered from my eating disorder for 19 years.

You may not understand why you are having to go through this; however, I will tell you that God can use this to bring you closer to Him as He did with me.

Lord Jesus,
Please help Pat to break free from this cycle of Bulimia. You alone can cure any disease, faith in you has healed anything, let your holy spirit come down and aid Pat in getting rid of Bulimia. Help Pat to draw close to you in prayer and the Sacraments to rid the evilness of this disease out of her life once and for all. In this I pray In Jesus most heavenly name, Amen.

on Earth as it is in Heaven,
Give us this day our daily bread,
and forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us,
and lead us not into temptation,

May God bless you …during this time of suffering and may you feel his loving presence as you experience this treatment.

I admire you for taking this step and pray for your courage and perseverance through recovery period.
