This sacrament was prominent on my short list of reasons for becoming Catholic from Episcopalian. I KNEW in my heart that I had to confess my sins to a Catholic Priest as a Catholic for them to… in my mind at least be witnessed and forgiven by Our Lord. Telling others just wasn’t cutting it, I knew I had to be absolved by a Catholic Priest, and in so being absolved by our Lord, for me to feel comfort.
Non Catholics, please don’t be offended if what you are doing feels right for you, this just is what feels right for me.
The sacrament of confession still stands, along with communion, as one of my favorite sacraments. I have access to some really awesome Priests. Becoming Catholic is one of the best decisions I have ever made in my life.
