Childlike
Ponder a small child
and what do you see
a heart of innocence
and complete sincerity
consider his dependence
on his parents to supply
food for his hunger
and comfort when he crys
his trust is complete
when shown where to go
he trusts for one reason
“cause my daddy said so”
his mind is open
to what he is taught
he is joyful and playful
of striving he knows not
“mommy will hold me”
his faith doesn’t waiver
he knows she’ll be there
because his hugs she savors
become like little children
the disciples were told
if they wanted to enter
Gods heavenly fold
the words Jesus spoke
were not for them solely
they’re for all who desire
to dwell with the Most Holy
