I know this is nitpicky but I have been wondering this lately,
I have heard alot of people say that we are called to be Jesus to the world. Is that statement accurate, because I know that we are called to be instruments of jesus and show people to him? It confuses me when people say that we need to be Jesus to the world. There were alot of things that Jesus did that we are not supposed to do. He worked miracles in his own name. He spoke with demons directly. He was created to be perfect in his nature and not through grace like we are. Jesus also reformed the faith and spent his life bringing it into completion, and we are more called to obey the faith rather than change it.
Is it more accurate to say perhaps that we are called to be Mary to the world? Someone perfectly following God’s will, who by the power of grace was elevated. Like Mary, if we reach that state of perfection can bring Christ to people and people to christ.
