St. Benebrick is a church I built based on some of my favorite churches. It has everything a good Catholic church needs, plus a quiet grotto suitable for prayer and contemplation. St. Benebrick’s body lies uncorrupted in a tomb in the basement.

That’s great Tad!😃 you would have done a lot of thinking about the faith while building I’m sure.

Hi Tad,

That’s really beautiful! ❤️

Is that made out of Legos? If it is, that’s pretty amazing, too. I bet you had fun building it.

Awesome job!! 😀

Blessings
That is impressive. I’m 70 yo w fair vision. But, initially, I was thinking is that Real. The green grass and bushes got me. That stained glass is supurb! Are you dabbling in architecture? Your artistic talent is great.
God bless you and thank you for sharing

There’s one of these in my parish- A retired firefighter who took up Lego as a hobby built it

Not yet, but I’d love to serve mass with Fr. Leopold some time!

That’s awesome. I love the roman collar. I’m thinking a little stencil or a little white tape would give me the same effect. I’ve got four priests, vested in four liturgical colors. The white one is really weak. If someone wants to sew me some nice vestments, I wouldn’t mind. I haven’t found a good way around it.

Here’s one of our priests. This was taken during Ordinary Time obviously. Verbum Domini! (Please Note: This uploaded content is no longer available.)

Notice a renegade brick has distressed my credence table and the tabernacle is still a work in progress and I’m terribly jealous of Fr. Leopold’s gold chalice. Gold is a relatively new color for the Lego.

I did, I really like living with it too. What was great about building it is that, like all our churches, it’s steeped in Holy Tradition. I didn’t have to build anything new, I only had to follow the excellent model laid out before us.

No, I’m a watercolorist by trade. I’m terrible at 3-D art, but for some reason I can make Lego sculptures. For St. Benebrick I just studied some of my favorite churches while I was at mass. Once I got the footprint, it all went up easily from there.

You think? Fr. Leopold’s is smaller, but I think it’s less attractive. St. Benebrick’s tabernacle is based on my parish’s tabernacle, so I’m rather fond of it. Here’s the modified version with the Holy Spirit descending in the bodily form of a dove on top. I admit, that does look huge, but it’s as small as I could get it. I used two snow shoes, two minifig hands and a modified antennae to pin them together. (Please Note: This uploaded content is no longer available.)

IMO, it would look better with a single door as opposed to a double

The more I look at this the more impressed I am. I love the stained glass windows!
