This is not what the Church teaches and to discourage some one who could be bringing Communion to the sick, when the Church allow ask and allows it, is wrong.

First of all the OP was not asking about taking the Sacrament to the sick. So often those who are in favour of EMHCs wheel out that argument, yet it is only a small percentage who do perform this valuable ministry. Personally I see it as a completely separate issue from that of EMHCs at mass. And SeminarianMatt is perfectly entitled to discourage people from entering this ministry. It’s called freedom of speech.
