My family has s history of premature labor. I thought I was in the clear with my first, but right at 32 weeks I had to stop working unless I wanted to have my baby early.l (which of course I don’t). Tomorrow is 33 weeks (hang in there baby!).

Going from 50+ hour work weeks to not even being able to do dishes is honestly agonizing. I’m used to shopping for groceries, cooking, cleaning on top of work… aaahh!

Who else has had to be on bedrest? Anyone currently? How did/do you cope? Do you want to chat? Lol

My parents are staying with me until baby comes but I can only watch so many sitcoms in a day… currently rewatching Frasier 🙂

What shows are you watching? Any good books you’ve read lately?

It won’t be long now! I am glad your parents are with you!

Just finished watching the series Justified on Hulu. Haven’t found any new series to watch, so I am rewatching Ozark.

If you get tired of tv or reading, head over to the prayer intentions forum, people are always in need of prayers, 24/7. 🙂

Many years ago…over forty years now…I was placed on bed rest at the beginning of my pregnancy. I wasn’t even showing yet! It was agonizing as we didn’t have recorded shows or Netflix, just our three TV channels. I was allowed one 15 minute walk a day if the weather would co operate.

I read a ton of books and finally got the ok to resume mild activity at 4months. I survived but it wasn’t fun! My sympathies!

I haven’t had to do long term bedrest myself, but I’ve always imagined that if I had to, and I was really restless in between otherwise ‘productive’ activities…

I’d explore one of those big-world online or video games. 😀 I’m not actually even familiar enough to suggest any specific titles, but there seem to be so many options, from games where you primarily build things, to games where you explore wide vistas and have adventures, etc.

I mean I’m not suggesting doing this instead of some St. Ignatius-style bedrest book reading and spiritual meditation. Nor even instead of some activity oriented to preparing for your new arrival (congratulations, by the way!)

But maybe on top of? If you’re really at a loss for something to do, video games might at least be better than tv because they’re more interactive?

You could even choose a game where technically there are other real people playing too, so it’s sort of ‘social’. If your bed rest won’t be too long you could even do simple app games on your phone or iPad (many can be played with strangers online, things like scrabble!)
