Friends,

About 3 months ago I felt compelled to start a group whose purpose would be to put our Christian faith into action. I can’t p(name removed by moderator)oint a definitive impetus other than being FED UP with the slew of obscenities in our culture that are waging war on our nation’s peace. My goal was to provide a means for others, who feel like I do, to organize and fight for good together, rather than as individuals.

My general plan of action was this:
  1. Education on a topic in question
  2. Action through letter writing and petitioning
  3. Action through demonstration
  4. Action through organized boycott
Unlike other groups, I did not plan on this group focusing on one specific issue (e.g. abortion, death penalty, immigration), but rather wherever the battle seemed most needed to be fought.

To date, I have done nothing. What has prevented me is my great uncertainty over whether ANY of this is the right thing to do!
  1. What if the issue I propose to lend our support to is not the one the group members thinks is important?
  2. What if the “education” I offer on a topic is inadequate?
  3. How do I convince them that letter writing and boycotting are effective strategies?
Has anyone been here, done this? Please share your own experiences, and your comments.

Peace in Christ

God bless you for caring, but I actually, I think there are to many groups out there already.

Back in the early to mid twentieth century, when our country was faithful and at it’s zenith, there were few such groups out there. The only real “group” anyone really belonged to was the Church, and we were much better off for it. Today, everyone wants to be part of some advocacy group instead of going to Church and being a faithful Christian and a good witness. Thats really all it takes.

IMHO, concentrate your efforts on getting all of the fallen-away Catholics back in Church and we will see things begin to get better. There is no substitute for Church.🙂

Myway - Yes, I’m fed up too - but I have to agree with jimcav - if people would just turn back to God, the world would be alot better place.
I think it’s great that you wish to “make a difference”. Maybe Jimcav’s suggestion is something to consider. Sorry I don’t have any concrete answers 😦
May God Bless You for your good intentions!!
