You said why not just be good for goodness sake. There is no good without God. Indifference to God is indifference to truth and goodness and love because none of them have any existence apart from God. Take a look at modern morality. For example, today on the Glenn Beck show there was a girl on who had held an auction to sell her virginity to the highest bidder. The way she viewed morality was that it was all relative. As long as you don’t hurt anyone else you can do what ever you want and it is fine.
