I’m trying to understand the doctrine of the Immaculate Conception. Various translations of Luke 1:28 call Mary “full of grace” or “favored one”, etc. While reading Acts, I saw that Stephen was also referred to as filled with or full of grace. I’m trying to wrap my head around the difference between him and Mary.
Does the Church teach the Immaculate Conception based on Tradition or Luke 1:28 or some combination of the two?
