Would it be a sin for me to read other books that are not catholic? And if I am, where should the line stop?

I want to be more knowladgeable of other religions for many reasons, one is to keep open minded. But I want to know if it would be sinful or blasphemous in any way to read any other religious/spiritual (etc) books?

it depends a lot on what you want to read (something that blasphemes Christ shouldn’t be read), whether you have the scholarly background and disposition that you won’t be led astray by it, and your motivation in reading it.

“Keeping open-minded” in the sense that you’re thinking some of these other religions might be the truth is the wrong reason to read their books.

Oh, noooo.
I do not intend on converting to any religion or looking for the truth as I think that Catholicism (a religion I was born into) is most likely to be the true religion (sorry to be biased), if not open-minded then instead just knowladgeable in general…

No. How do you think apologists are able to answer questions about other religions?

What do you mean by “open minded”?

To understand how people of their own religion may think or depend from their own religious book, or understand where their beliefs come from or how their religions are in general…
And also I know many Christians, Muslims and a few satanists that always try to argue with me on my beliefs etc… (but I don’t want to be hostile to anyone

as st Paul took the decision in 1 Corinthians 2:2 For I decided to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ, and him crucified. so we shouldn’t read other religion books ,our faith will be lost.

2 Corinthians 4;3-4 2 We have renounced the shameful things that one hides; we refuse to practice cunning or to falsify God’s word; but by the open statement of the truth we commend ourselves to the conscience of everyone in the sight of God. 3 And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing. 4 In their case the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, to keep them from seeing the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God. 5 For we do not proclaim ourselves; we proclaim Jesus Christ as Lord and ourselves as your slaves for Jesus’ sake. 6 For it is the God who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” who has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

7 But we have this treasure in clay jars, so that it may be made clear that this extraordinary power belongs to God and does not come from us.

Reading about other religions I realized how Christianity is unique. My doubts were removed more I knew.

I second that. Comparative religion is about what can be compared in terms of basis and history, not tenets of faith.

'Pope Francis and conference participants focused on the importance of believers knowing the teachings of their own faith and of learning to go beyond superficial and often prejudicial presentations of the faith of the other.

The pope said that it is not only a necessary condition for mutual understanding and peaceful coexistence, but it is also an educational obligation" aimed at helping Christians and Muslims recognize each other’s values and concerns and identify those they have in common.’ Education, awe must mark approach to other religions, pope says | Catholic Courier
