Our pastor told us today during the sermon that Benedict XVI had the heart of St. John Vianney (still incorrupt, I believe) brought to his private chapel for prayer soon after he began his papacy. One would suppose this suggests a strong intention to turn the tide in favor of more vocations. We have a relatively new (couple of years) statue of St. John to whom we are beseeched to pray for vocations.

We also heard that when St. John first arrived in his parish (post-French Rev) he found faith and mass attendance totally lacking. He wrote the names of everyone in the village on a ribbon and affixed it to the back of the Immaculate Heart statue, consecrating them all to the Immaculate Heart. We know the kind of results he got.
