He has lived a long, productive life. I think it is wonderful that he is making peace with his final journey.
This is not a time for sadness, but a time for joy in the eternal hope of the resurrection.
May God bless him for his titanic theological work and his heroic efforts at unifying the conscience of the Church. By the prayers our Glorious All-Immaculate Lady Theotokos and Ever-Virgin Mary, deliver him, Lord Christ. Amen.
Mourn if you will, that we are losing him.

I wouldn’t presume that this means he is at death’s door or anything. Of course he is in the “final period” of his life. He’s 90. The article does not indicate any new information about his current health status.
