Was looking for some good fiction titles that feature Benedictines in the story. I know of a couple already:

“The Name of the Rose” by Umberto Eco
“The Monastery” by Sir Walter Scott
“The Abbot” by Sir Walter Scott

Any others come to mind?

In This House of Brede by Rumer Godden.

Incidentally, I wouldn’t recommend “The Name of the Rose”. I read it years ago, and now I deeply regret having done so. There are things in it that harmed my spiritual life, and I’m not thinking of the one sex scene (although that is certainly objectionable).

It also has some great moments in it. Eco was a brilliant medievalist, and was haunted by his former Catholic faith, but did subscribe to a postmodern worldview.
