My favourite service at school was the Friday morning Benediction. We would march out of class and into the church and the most wonderful service would take place. The highlights were when the golden monstrance would be reverently paraded out, the priest holding it with a beautiful cloth, and incense smoke wafting out from the altar area. One hymn we sang was ‘O Sacrament Divine’. Brings tears to my eyes just thinking about it.

Does this service still take place?

Sure. My parish regularly offers a Holy Hour and Benediction on the first Wednesday each month, and irregularly at other appropriate times (patronal feast, Divine Mercy Sunday, Corpus Christi, among others).

The Oratory I attend regularly for Mass has Perpetual Adoration with Benediction daily (when Jesus is reposed during Mass time).

I love Benediction too. We have it with Adoration at my parish once a week (on Friday afternoons) and I always try to attend.

Yes we still have Adoration with Benediction every Wednesday of every month at 5:30-6:30 PM in which we pray for an increase of vocations. Our Serra club started this great way to come and visit with the Lord and then to pray for an increase of laborers. In our parish we have definitely seen a difference. We now have 6 young men in our discernment process from our parish.👍

My Knights of Columbus Assembly has Benediction and Adoration each month before our meetings. It is a very spiritually uplifting service. Our prayers also include a group recitation of the rosary. I look forward to it each month.

We have 24-hour Exposition every Friday which ends with Benediction before 9am mass on Saturday. We even get better response when the hymns are in Latin than when they are in English. They have given up trying to change us to English.

At my parish we have Benediction and Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament every Saturday along with Confession. It’s pretty nice, although I would love the EF form more. It is still very nice though.

You are all very fortunate but I am glad that it still exists. I may drop a few hints when I speak to one of our priests next.

Thanks, Rove

We have it every Thursday evening at work at the close of Exposition. But I get off of work at 5 and don’t really want to hang around until 8PM…the family would not appreciate that. Besides I am over a half hour drive home from work.
