Best Bible for someone with little background in the faith

I’ve had it on my heart recently to start digging deeper and to start reading my Bible regularly. This is something I have never done. I had plans to join a Bible study this upcoming semester, however, those plans fell through and the study was cancelled so I am now on my own.

I would like a solid Catholic Bible. I would prefer something where I can take notes in the margins. I’ve been attending Catholic mass for the last 3 and a half years and was baptized/confirmed Easter 2015. Prior to that, I had never studied the Bible and had little knowledge of Christianity. I have not been very faithful to studying directly from the Bible in my time since becoming Catholic either so I need something that will not be too difficult for me to understand.

This is 100% personal opinion but i found the Old Testament to be excruciatingly boring until I listened to this series:
which by the way is not a Catholic commentary but still a viewpoint worth listening to. The New Testament is more self-explanatory and enjoyable.
 
I would recommend the CTS version of the Jerusalem Bible as a good starter Bible.
