Howdy, I’ve been finding it to be very difficult to pray the rosary and my theory is that I am just too hyper. Every time I pray the rosary I just get out of breathe and usually complete it within 15 to 20 minutes. I’m 16 years old and I’ve been getting a lot of school work and I plan to start waking up at 6:00 or a time earlier so I can work out and get my prayers and Bible readings done. Nn of my friends do the same so I would like some of your opinions on what condition to be in when praying the rosary and with reading the Bible so I strengthen my relationship with God.

20 minutes sounds about right for praying 5 decades of the Rosary. You could try praying silently instead of out loud to avoid getting out of breath. You could pray while you’re walking to or from school (taking a guess there…I dont’ know how you get to school 🙂 ) Or when you come home from school, take 30 minutes to pray your rosary and read your Bible…use that as ‘shifting gears’ time. Sometimes it helps to look at pictures of the Mysteries while you pray the rosary or reflect on scenes from Jesus movies you may have watched. The Passion of the Christ is excellent to use for the Sorrowful Mysteries. What’s important is that you don’t become discouraged about not ‘doing it right’. Just pray the Rosary the best you can and ask God to give you the graces you need to be the person He wants you to be. And God bless you for trying, especially at your age. That’s beautiful.
