Is there a good missal that has both Latin and English and covers the masses and readings for every day–not just Sundays?

I have the Roman Catholic Daily Missal from Angelus Press, which is excellent. It contains the propers of the season, for feast days and votive Masses in English and Latin, along with many other resources.

The Baronius Press Missal is quite similar.

I’ve seen a reprint of a 1962 missal, possibly from Baronius, retailing for about $56, but it only had English.

Since I’ve started going to the TLM at my local cathedral, people have started asking me about it, what missals are used, which ones they should get, and so forth. I suspect others think me a little off for actually wanting to go to a Latin mass over one in English.

That looks pretty good. At a Catholic bookstore they were trying to interest me in a $300 one of the sort that would be used by the celebrant at a mass. Besides being too bulky for my own use, I would feel I’d have to stage a procession every time I used the thing.😃

Angelus Press is associated with SSPX, yes?
Yes, although the Missal doesnt contain anything about the SSPX or the Novus Ordo vs. Tridentine controversy, or anything of the like. In fact, the rules for fasting are taken from the 1984 Code of Canon Law (not often used by the SSPX), although it does speak of previous traditions.

For the most part Angelus Press is neutral.

I’ve always wanted an Altar Missal 😃

I work at a Catholic bookstore. My boss tried to get me to buy it. Now customers are asking me about where to get Latin missals.

I have a Sunday Missal, Fulton J. Sheen edition. It was first introduced in 1961 and has everything in both Latin and English. I bought it on eBay and I love it. Although used, it is in good condition, white leather, with only the title page a little wrinkled. It is by Hawthorn Books.

But, is the Latin Missal which is most likely the Tridentine Mass said in churches near you.? We have to travel far and wide in Toronto to hear that Mass.

There is the Novus Ordo (The new Mass in Latin of Pope Paul VI) which can be said . Personally, I have got used to the English Mass but would prefer it if we had the old Tridentine Mass in Latin in our parish church.

Hipster - personally I’d recommend either the Baronius Press Missal or the New Marian Missal (which is cheaper, for the most part, than the Baronius Missal). I would absolutely avoid the Angelus one, because even if it doesn’t contain any doctrinal errors it is still supporting the SPPX press.

The Angelus Press Missal is considered the best 1962 Missal. I bought it from the Our Lady of the Rosary Library. There is nothing wrong or sinful with buying this missal.

And the problem with that is what exactly? The Vatican has even allowed modest donations to be given at their Masses.

By the way, amazon.com has new and used 1962 missals available as well.
