Best Latin Dictionary for translating from the Vulgate?

I was hoping to get Lewis and Short’s but 150 is way too much. What is the best comprehensive dictionary for scripture and ecclesial latin in general???

I have found this one to be a good, reasonably priced dictionary for ecclesiastical Latin:

It doesn’t contain *every *word in the Vulgate, but it has much more than I expected. I also use a general dictionary for classical Latin.

You do not really need a dictionary of ecclesiastical Latin to translate from the Vulgate. I would just use the online reference for other documents when needed. BTW I am cheap! 😃

BTW why do you want to do a new translation of the Vulgate? :confused:

I don’t know about the OP, but I like to read Latin as a pasttime. 😉
 
Whitaker’s Words is a good freeware program for Latin translation. Basically it’s just a faster dictionary lookup, but it tells you all the possible cases and numbers and meanings that the specific word you enter could be.
