Yes! Magnificat is wonderful, it has the Order of Mass and the daily scripture readings … and also meditations for the day, and prayers for morning and evening. And it has a nice discussion feature on a piece of Christian artwork, and a few short articles each month, too.

For those who have never tried it, pick up a copy at your local Catholic bookstore … it’s worth every penny! 👍

It sure is! Yes, it includes readings for Mass every day, the complete edition. I love it. 👍
 
What do the priests use at the altar for an English language Mass?

I have the Daily Roman Missal from Scepter Pub. I don’t think they publish it any more though. I bought it from EWTN but they don’t have the one I got anymore. I think its similar to the one published by Our Sunday Visitor. But I also subscribe to Magnificat. I bought the nice leather cover with the picture of Christ on it so I could keep it in my purse and it wouldn’t get messed up. I used to use the plastic covers but I would get them messed up easily.

Also, I always have my Magnificat in my bag just in case I forget my big missal or I’m traveling.

The outstanding “Daily Roman Missal” is still published by the Midwest Theological Forum. It is probably the finest book-form missal for the Ordinary Form of the Mass. Just keep in mind that it’s expensive, and that the new English translation of the Mass will be coming out in 2010 or 2011, so it might be better to subscribe to Magnificat right now. (Still, it’s a wonderful product!)

I do love mine. Several others at my parish use the same one (didn’t even realize it until I was in line for confession and several of us had them!)

I hope it is still as good once the new translation comes out!

I believe that they are indeed planning an updated version when the new translation is released.
