The Red Sox are a baseball team.

It depends. It is played more than any other team sport, but soccer fanatics like me are considered somewhat strange and a small minority. And many soccer fans in the US follow one of the Euro leagues or a Latin American league instead of our MLS. Personally, I prefer MLS.

As for Beckham, he is known, but more for being a celebrity than for his left foot.

Is soccer popular in America? No. Should it be? Of Course! If you walk up to an American who is their favorite baller they would say either: Pele, Freddy Adu, or David Beckham. It is pathetic! I’m colombian and I watch all kinds of futbol. Such as: Serie A, Premeirship, and Bundesliga. I occasionally watch colombian and mexican fubol. Best Baller? Juan Pablo Angel.

I know that MLS is not the best league in the world. Far from it. But it is my league.

Pope is still playing. He is at St. Lake City now. He had some injury issues during his career, but he has always been rock solid.

Dude, the best soccer league is the NCAA! Go University of Portland Woman! Go Christine Sinclair! Go Angie Woznuk!

Wu-hoo!

I’m not so sure it is called the EPL. It’s called the FA British Premier League.

Anyway, I like British Premier League, La Liga(Spain), and Serie A (Italy). I like watching the UEFA Cup and the Champions League also.

I don’t like Man. U either. It will be interesting though to see what Malcolm Glazer will do to ruin that team.

My opinion is that MLS and NCAA are totally mediocre soccer leagues.

Actually, the league has 2 official names, the “FA Premier League” and the “Barclays Premiership” (after its sponsor, Barclays Bank – and you think American sports are commerciallized).

It is commonly called the EPL (for English Premier League) as there are other “Premier Leagues” in the world. Most importantly in Scotland. In the UK, each of the four “nations” has their own football association and league (although some Welsh teams play in English leagues and Berwick-upon Tweed, which is technically in England, plays in a Scottish League for historical reasons).

Yes, they are good leagues

There are two types of people in the world, Man U fans (none of whom live in Manchester) and the vast majority who hates Man U (Glazer or not!)

So? MLS is my league and I sepnd more time watching it and more money on it than other leagues… As for the NCAA, it is a college amateur league. It is what it is.

Sorry man. That was just my opinion.

I used to love the MLS. I started to hate it when they got rid of the Mutiny and the Fusion. 2000 was MLS’s best year in my opinion. That was when Tampa had Mamadou “Big Mama” Diallo scoring all the goals and Carlos “El Pibe” Valderramma creating all of his plays. That was the best team: El Pibe and Big Mama.

Don’t appologise, it is your opinion.

My problem with MLS is the lack of any creative genius type players. You used to have guys like Etcheverry and Valdarama in the league. The league level of play is better today, but it lacks the artistic players.
