Best Spiritual Reading You've ever Done? (Other than the Bible, of course)

Has anyone read Cardinal Sarah’s first book, God or Nothing? My pastor read it as soon as it came out in French and was speechless, which is saying something. He gave a copy to at least ten people within three months of finishing it.

I’ve had the English translation for quite a while on my Kindle, but finding time to read is difficult…

It’s certainly on my list after reading The Power of Silence
 
Philokalia, especially St Maximos the Confessor, who has a way of speaking to the moment. It is uncanny how I often read a passage which seems to address exactly what I am wondering or going through - positive or negative - right at that time. It really startles me, but I don’t argue with it. (I am not cherrypicking either; I don’t know it that well to do that.) The Philokalia is some of the best writings by Christian Fathers around, period. I have a kind of cheap paperback set of volumes; at some point I hope to purchase a nicer hard bound better translated version should such a thing exist, more like your nice Bible you only read on special occasions.

I started it, but I was reading a few other books at the same time and I haven’t gone back to it yet. It is very good as well.
