Hi,
I want to start reading some of Plato and Aristotle’s works, and am wondering what the best English translations people here would recommend. I have read many of Plato’s dialogues years ago, and recently read some of Aristotle. I think most of the Plato translations I read were by Benjamin Jowett. In particular I want to read Plato’s Republic and Timaeus dialogues. Does anyone here familiar with Plato’s works have a suggestion on who the best translators of these dialogues would be? I might just read a few different translations, but I thought I might ask in case anyone familiar with these works would be able to provide a good recommendation. Thank you for any suggestions.
God bless.

The republic by Plato (which is about Socrates) is available on librivox. The site has perfect English translations in audio book format. I rather enjoyed it (the republic) and there are also catholic books on there if I am not mistaken.
