It is only impossible to those who say to God you are wrong. There is nothing impossible about it accept the hardness of a persons heart. Jesus said that the road to heaven was narrow and the one to hell was broad. It is the devil who implants in our mind that it is impossible.
OP
I am praying for you and your wife.
I think if she is going to be a true Godly wife, she needs to meet you half-way here. My husband and I have been using NFP for 20 years and we have 5 beautiful “planned” children. It is VERY effective in either preventing or conceiving children. Yes, it takes a little work and there’s a learning curve in the beginning, but it becomes second nature after a short time and can be so beneficial to a marriage…in so many ways. Have you really sat down with her and asked her why she’s not open to life (she would need to have SERIOUS reasons not to want to have anymore)? Are there some other issues in your marriage that need addressing?
In my honest opinion, I think some counseling might be helpful along with a talk with a priest you feel comfortable with.
A book that may be helpful is called, “Good News about Sex and Marriage”, by Christopher West. It might help her understand where you’re coming from.
Marriage isn’t always easy…but there has to be some give and take.
