For anyone who hasn’t read the apologetics threads in a while here’s a some info. you should know about.

I was at the mall yesterday evening and was approached by a couple of people inviting me to their “bible study” they started going on about how we have a mother god:eek:, please beware. They are targeting young people which is probably why they cruise the malls.

Here’s a link that someone posted on the the apologetics thread for more information, these are people who have left the cult and want to get the word out.

We had nuns doing the mother god thing. They called her Krista and they had her at the center of the last supper. It pretty much made me ill.

This makes me so sad:(.

I know kage_ar was dealing with something similar in her parish (nuns ex-communicated), don’t know if it’s the same group that your talking about…still very sad:(.

You know, mother god was not part I’ve heard of (nothing shocks me right now, though…). This group from Canada believes in a quinternity instead of the Trinity. 5 instead of 3 - Father, Son, Holy Spirit, Mary and the leader of the movement, Maria Paul somebody or 'nother

Sounds like the same group who recently had six Catholic nuns who were members excommunicated! can’t remember their name.

I don’t like reading these things. They actually scare me. The description of the cult from that link is just frightening, I don’t know why. I feel like they are going to come and get me or something.

I know what you mean…imagine how I felt once I found out who they really were:bigyikes:. I was actually standing there talking to them:eek:, of course being charitable, but still defending the faith as much as I could:thumbsup:. I had no idea I was having a conversation with cult members:eek:, that’s what I get for going to the mall:p.

No… words…

I head heard Fr. John Corapi speak about this. Haven’t these people read the Bible? This is a MADE-UP ‘deity.’ Why not just be a Wiccan? How can they call themselves Catholics?

All I have to say is…
Bad on them if they approach my kids… They aren’t shy about giving them a piece of their minds about their faith!

I actually was surprised to see how well they have incorporated their faith into everyday life… when I read my 17 yo’s blog about morals… it was awesome!

Do you think I should call and complain to the mall management about these people and inform them that they are are a cult? Is this type of soliciting allowed in malls?

In what mall did this happen, if I may ask? (I live in the western suburbs of Chicago; forewarned is fore-armed.) I think most malls have a policy of no solliciting, in fact, they won’t even allow the Salvation Army to ring their bells at Christmas time.

Happened at Yorktown in Lombard, I’m still seriously considering calling the mall management about this.

Couldn’t hurt, worst thing happens they say they can’t do anything about it and you wasted 5 minutes on a call. 👍

Yorktown–yikes!! I go there frequently, but have never encountered this. There is a mall information desk on the lower level under one of the escalators near Carson’s and the kiddie train. I’ve seen security guards walking around there–maybe you could tell them.

Well, well, well. I need to figure out where these nuns are if they are willing to treat me like a god!!!

😉 :rotfl:

The fact that God is every bit as much female as male, mother as father should have no bearing on anything. Let’s get rid of everyone who thinks God is female. And erase verse 27 from the first chapter.

Matthew
