I am wondering about “Anti-Catholic” sentiments from those who honestly believe that Jesus Christ is indeed the Living Son of God, just as we Catholics do. Why are they anti-Catholic? Is it:
  1. Their family and friends are so they are too?
  2. It is “freedom” to be anti-establishment"?
  3. They protest the way the Catholic Church has operated at various points in history?
  4. Some other reasons?
But, I am Catholic because there are certain passages in the Bible that convince me I have to be Catholic if I am to follow Christ (God who cannot deceive) at all. So I wonder what are, say ten, passages in the Bible that support being nothing less than Catholic? And what are the objections to these passages our Christian brothers express? Passage like:

“Thou art Peter and upon THIS rock I will build MY Church …”;
“This **IS **My Body … **DO **this in rememberance of ME …”;
“Whose sins YOU shall forgive …” etc.

I think focusing on such passages and getting our Christian Brothers to consider them just may help them to see Christ as we do.

There are a number of reasons why non-Catholics are anti-Catholic, and those you listed are some good ones. Some other reasons would be
  1. those who want some Christianity but not enough to require a life change or serious devotion, whereas true Catholicism does require that despite many Catholics who just don’t get it. But there are so many non-Catholic groups that promote every flavor of “Christianity” under the sun that most of those kinds of people prefer the fluff that some of those liberal churches provide.
  2. another reason would be zealous Protestants who see Catholics who have no clue what the Catholic Church teaches. They just assume that the Catholic Church is being signified by them. And Protestants like that are usually puzzled when they see a Catholic who is actually devoted and in love the Lord Jesus Christ. We need to let our lights shine! We need to intelligently clarify those misunderstanding that they have about Catholicism.
  3. lack of truth seekers is another reason. Many people are so wrapped up with what they know that they are unwilling to listen to anything else. They are afraid to question their own beliefs and put it to the test. If more people would be willing to give Catholicism a fair chance to prove its logic and theology, they would be amazed on how much it makes sense.

I come from a Southern Baptist background, so to be honest I was not convinced by Bible verses, but I was convince by some things that made me look at the Bible differently. Here is a case I made
