Hi, if I may say the comparison between the Bible and geological/fossil evidence was posted to a forum in a large university city where there are three universities. The majority of forum members are what you would call ‘militant atheists’ whose aim it is to oust the church and make England a secular society removing all church influence from parliament and English law. Most members of the forum are from a scientific background and they tried every way they could to discredit the above comparison and they could not. These haters of religion, some of them with good reason, are not going to write a peer review supporting something that in principle they are violently opposed to, but neither, like Jesus could they find any fault.
 
So… do you also go around demanding that the Declaration of Independence be supported by science, or else everybody should start paying taxes to the UK again?

Do you go to the store and demand that every price on an item be supported by a peer-reviewed paper?

Seriously, you’ve got some real genre confusion going on. I bet you have a hard time picking out a movie to watch, what with so few cinema-related experimental protocols.

Meanwhile, I’m sure I could waste your time and mine with all sorts of nature-related verses, like “Where there is a corpse, the vultures will gather,” (Mt. 24:28) or “When evening comes, you say, ‘It will be fair weather, for the sky is red,’” (Mt. 16:2), but I don’t think you really care to know the observation skills of ancient poets and prophets.

(And whoever said that the ancients didn’t know about lunar eclipses – WRONG. Calculation of eclipse dates is Bronze Age or earlier. And Joel had probably seen several blood-red lunar eclipses, just like the average human living today.)

I address everyone, in the wild and curmudgeonly fashion which befits one about to go to bed after too long of a day.
