I have a two fold question:
  1. What would you consider the most inspirational books in the bible, say to read if you were depressed or something like that?
  2. If you struggled with sins of impurity what books do you think would be most beneficial to read?
Thanks. 😃

after the Gospels
  1. psalms for your first question
  2. Hosea for your second question

Psalms is wonderful when you are depressed. There is a psalm for every mood in the human personality. Also, it is often a good way to pray when you are depressed–just pray the psalms. God bless.

Psalms and the Gospels for both questions.

Genesis for the question you didnt ask, opinion for best book for faith. 🙂

For the first question I would have to say the Gospels–when I am depressed, I always read about Christ’s sufferings and realize that I don’t have it so bad after all. For the second question, I would have to say the Gospels again. Jesus was so clear in the Gospels about the manner in which we need to live our lives, and if you ask me, they are the easiest books in the Bible to read.

  1. When depressed.
"Let not your hearts be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many rooms; if it were not so, would I have told you that I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and take you to myself, that where I am you may be also. And you know the way where I am going. Thomas said to him, “Lord we do not know where you are going; how can we know the way?” Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father, but by me. If you had known me, you would have known my Father also; henceforth you know him and have seen him.”
John 14:1-7
  1. When tempted to sin.
“And Mary said, My soul magnifies the Lord, and my spirit rejoices in God my savior.”
Luke 1: 46-47

“All things are lawful for me,” but not all things are helpful. “All things are lawful for me,” but I will not be enslaved by anything. “Food is meant for the stomach and the stomach for food”- and God will destroy both one and the other. THe body id not meant for immorality, but for the Lord, and the Lord is for the body.
1 Corinthians 6:12-13

Hope this helps. There are so many scriptures to guide the soul I could spend a lifetime quoting them. Immerse yourself in scripture and you will immerse yourself in truth.
