Bible Highlighting?

I grew up with underlining rather than highlighting. After too much underlining, I learned to read the passage, section or chapter first, and then underline. Today, with the exception of key words, I simply check what I want to remember to the right side of the passage and sometimes make a brief personal note there and in an index.

I’m right there with you! what do you do when a passage relates to more than one topic? Any tips?
In the Bible I use for apologetics, I underline the passage if it is already highlighted or I make an asterik and reference a key I’ve made.

In my home we don’t write or highlight in any book let alone THE BOOK.

Besides I’d end up highlighting the whole Bible.

I was also told if the Bible was blessed not to highlight.

I don’t know about highlighting the Bible…

When I make a Bible study or sth I print out the material and highlight the quotes or whatever there 🙂

Two of my adult catechism students gifted me with a leather-bound NABRE. Before I start highlighting the favorite passages from my old Bible, I did a little research among the bloggers and web pundits and the majority prefer the Zebrite highlighters as these do not bleed and the colors last a long time.

I ordered a set plus some ribbon markers.

Waiting for the mailman,
Joe

I noticed that yellow markings have faded in some books that I highlighted. So, I underline and make notes, like cross-references to verses that the commentary may not have printed.

Even pencil markings fade, so I resort to using ink.

Usually a Bible is not bound with enough pages for making notes, which is an unfortunate oversight – but there are so many pages to begin with, already.

But, I make notes of critical verses. There’s a command in the Bible to be happy, did you know that? do you know where that occurs?

I’ve forgotten, and I have a question out to the rabbi who talked about that in his TV program. See? I should have written it down.
