Amnesty International has appealed to the State of Texas to commute thedeath sentence of Khristian Oliver after four jury members revealedthat they had consulted the Bible in determining the sentence.

I hope the State of Texas commutes…BUT I also think the State should chastise the Court and Judge… which allowed it to happen.

It isn’t immediately obvious why a Bible should not be allowed, although it would surely be wrong to bookmark the pages and highlight the passages that implied either that the defendant should or should not be executed.
