Hi

Could anyone please advise me of a passage in the Bible where I might find something similar to a poem I am writing about a girl who discovers her materialistic family regard her as a ‘black sheep’ despite her unselfish good deeds?

Any thoughts would be really appreciated.

Thanks, and God Bless.

Ecclesiastics 3:1-8

From the mouth of God, written by Solomon during his twilight, during the darkest part of his life.

When the theme of the whole book can be considered as.

trying to find heaven on earth without God is as… Vanity, and grasping at the wind.

meaning, it is pointless and empty.

Vanity and grasping at the wind. That discription alone should give you an idea…

A time to love, a time to hate

etc

Thanks so much for all your kind suggestions - I will read these today.

Again, much appreciated, and God Bless.

“Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.” (Mt 19:24)

"and you will be hated by all for my name’s sake. But he who endures to the end will be saved. " (Mk 13:13)

“If the world hates you, know that it has hated me before it hated you.” (Jn 15:18)

"“Do not think that I have come to bring peace on earth; I have not come to bring peace, but a sword. 35 For I have come to set a man against his father, and a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law; 36 **and a man’s foes will be those of his own household.” **(Mt 10:34-36).
