As a Catholic, we look to the Council of Florence and Trent to “definitively” answer the question of the biblical canon, but I was wondering if the Orthodox have local councils or synods that each Church answers the question of which books should be in the Bible. Stated another way, how did the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church end up with 81 books, the EOC with 76, and we Romans with 73 (as seen in the Vulgate [prior to 1054])?
And, in the Orthodox view, does it even matter that they are different?
