According some testimonies about paranormal Masada and other biblical or in any case ancient jewish locations in modern Israel are haunted by ghosts of ancient jewish people comtemporary to biblical events. What do you think of this from a Catholic view?
Ghosts are not necessary contrary to Catholic teaching. They can be diabolical in nature - as in demons tricking or tormenting people. They can also be souls in purgatory who need prayers. The latter have been encountered even by saints.
I remember someone’s account of a local haunted bridge. People would see the ghostly image of a person who had jumped on repeat. A newly arrived Catholic in town arranged to have a Mass said for the soul of the person who jumped… the ghost sightings stopped.
