Can anyone recommend any Biblical scholars that could be consulted online (i.e. by email) with questions in their area of expertise?

What types of questions to you have? I can’t think of any Catholic Bible scholars that conduct anything akin to the “Ask An Apologist” forum here on CAF.

I did just find this on Dr. Scott Hahn’s website: Ask a general question

If you do ask a question (of any biblical scholar), I would just be prepared to either not get a response or to get a response from an assistant. These are busy people who get tons of questions, so they don’t necessarily have the time to answer each one personally.

Of course, you can always post questions in this forum. Many of us fancy ourselves to be biblical scholars. 😛 😉 (For the record, I do not consider myself one, but there are certain things I know. :))

Start by ask your question in this forum.
You might get a sufficient answer, or you might find that your question is insufficient.
 
EWTN has a Q&A scripture forum but the expert hasn’t answered anything in 8 months… Ten years ago Fr Most would have answered your questions within a few days, but as he is of happy memory now… If your question concerns specific translation or textual questions there are non-denominal/secular e-mail groups that specialize in that area. Otherwise Ron is correct: ask here. Ron is the translator of the CPDV for whatever that is worth. He is as opinionated as any other scripture scholar on his own views and he might respond.

The questions I have are kind of complicated, since it regarding Biblical genealogies, 1st century Jewish sociology, and legal issues relating to genealogies and inheritance so, I figured a Biblical scholar (preferably a Christian) might be a good source to contact since these issues are related to their area of study. But, if anyone here is familiar with the aforementioned subjects and could possibly assist me with some questions, I’d appreciate it.

The questions are specifically in regards to Jewish objections to Jesus as the Messiah based on His genealogy/lineage.
 
I’m familiar with that subject area. What is your question?

Michael Brown (a leading Jewish-Christian apologist) has a 4 volume treatise called “Answering Jewish Objections to Jesus”). He has some extensive sections addressing issues of geneology and the other subjects you referred to. If this is an area of interest of yours, its worth investing in that set which I’ve read through several times (as jewish believer, now Catholic).

I agree with Ron - ask away, you might be surprised by the number of folks on this forum with some interest, experience and ready perspectives on a number of those issues.
