I must admit that I was a little naive. Admittedely I do not watch much tv, but I was bored and channel surfed when I happened upon HBO and this Bill Maher guy!

I was shocked! I cannot and did not realize the boldness had reached this level in speaking against God and christianity! We are being attacked and it is serious, much more more so than I believed.

This Maher guys mode of attack seems to be in portraying christians as fundamentalist nuts. This is very disturbing.

Wow, I guess you really don’t watch much TV!🙂 Bill Maher 😦 is a “staple” guest on CNN, which, I believe, says alot about the “news” channel’s views on Christianity. He’s an embitted fallen-away (or fled-away) Catholic who never, ever missed an opportunity to spew his anti-Christian propaganda. Another poster said it best some time ago: I can’t watch Bill Maher on TV because my screen doesn’t have windshield wipers.👍

I’ve heard Maher make some good points, but they’re negated by his coarse and repugnant “humor”. Anyone debating him would have to be willing to swim in the cesspool that Maher and his audience call humor. The level of coarseness accepted as mainstream entertainment is shocking and tragic. HBO masquerades filth as culture, and most people now accept it. Its disappointing to see a filth-monger like Maher welcomed on “mainstream” programs as a serious political commentator.

Christians have been called worst by better peopele than Maher. I havent watched him in years

Never have I struggled more to be a good Christian than whenever I see Bill Maher appear onscreen. I instantly dive for my remote because watching him just makes my blood boil.

He is the most arrogant, annoying weasel I have ever seen. He thinks he’s so much better than everyone else and I really wish someone would smack him good (though I supoose that wouldn’t be good for me in the eyes of God…sigh…)
I, too, struggle with being charitable when someone is insulting to Christ or His Church. It reminds me of when we practice our amateur apologetics here and have someone tell us that we Catholics worship a “wafer”. Or when someone basically says Our Lady was an incubator for Jesus and nothing more. It’s not so much what I actually do…I am very charitable in my actions. But what I think, impulsively, is not nice. But I do not want those who insult Our Lord to drag me down to their level (of sin). So I am really working on that issue. “And they will know we are Christians by our love, by our love, they will know we are Christians by our love”–we sang that last week at Church. Ain’t it the truth?

Bill Maher seems bitter and unenlightened. I am sure we need to pray for him, he really needs it.

Fr. Corapi vs. Bill Maher - I would buy front row seats for that show 👍

I stay away from Bill Maher due to his nasty comments regarding GW Bush so it doesn’t surprise me his negativity spews towards Christianity.

We are assaulted every day by the mainstream media. I’m just staying focused on the prize at the end.

Solution to Bill Maher, Penn & Teller, Madonna or any other celebrity Christian bad-mouther:

Step 1: Unplug the TV.
Step 2: Load TV into a car, truck or other suitable vehicle of conveyance.
Step 3: Drive to the mouth of Hell, or any other suitable hole.
Step 4: Drop the TV in it.
Step 5: Never look back.

You mean TV is not itself the mouth of Hell?
