Bill Would Ban Abortions of ‘Gay Unborn Children’

(CNSNews.com) - The Pro-life Alliance of Gays and Lesbians (PLAGAL) is applauding a Maine lawmaker for introducing a bill that would prohibit the abortion of unborn homosexual babies.

“We recognize that at this time the gay gene has not been isolated, but with all the advances of genetics, we believe that it may just be a matter of time” before a test for the predisposition of homosexuality will be developed, said Jackie Malone, executive vice president of PLAGAL, in a press release.

PLAGAL hailed Maine State Rep. Brian Duprey, a Republican, for his solid support of pro-life legislation and said it is glad he will continue his fight for the unborn, even in the case of sexual orientation.

Aww, you took the words right out of my mouth.

And then their would be a plague of homosexuals who could not be accussed of wickedness or perversion because their state would be identifiably natural.

I highly doubt they’re going to find a “gay gene” any more than they’re going to find an “alcoholic gene”. The data coming from NARTH in California is all leading towards homosexuality being more of a mental disorder than a genetic one. In other words, there is a genetic component, but that component is likely to be a leaning towards a certain personality that is prone to homosexuality.

So while its nice that this man would like to stop abortions (no complaints here!) I don’t think there is a way that they’re going to be able to identify “gay unborn children.”

A “plague”?! That sounds pretty rude to me. And say they did find this elusive “gay gene”. All that it would mean is that someone was more prone towards being homosexual. That would not free them from the requirement that they live as God requires.

So homosexuals are now a protected class, more equal under the law than anyone else? Totally ridiculous but I hope it does indeed lead to the protection of ALL children under the law. 😉

:bigyikes: If this passes, it will mean that unborn heterosexual children will be deprived of the right to life based on their (future) sexual orientation. Blatent discrimination; disgusting.**

Exactly and then there will be suits;) On the blantant discrimination and ALL children will be safe:D

This is the sickest type of thinking in my opinion. We allow more black babies to be aborted than any other race (in the US) and we aren’t appaled by that? [Where is Jesse Jackson when black babies need him? ] Yet someone actually thinks we need to worry that if a gay gene is isolated that we have to fear for the lives of gays? WOW! What a sick, sick world we live in.

There you go denying reality again.

This bill is a step in the right direction. We need to get another one started to protect children with Down’s syndrome.

To “protect” the homosexuals is politically correct:rolleyes: and they will win, that said, I don’t believe ANY child should be aborted. The same “PC” people out there running around protesting the abortions of “future Gay Babies” are the same nuts running around “promoting” the abortions of down syndrome and other possible disabled babies. No child should ever be given the death sentence just because he/she may not be “perfect”

What I do not understand is this…if you are pregnant with a child and through whatever testing you find out your child has Down’s Syndrome why abort…why not just give it up for adoption? I am sure that there are families out there that would jump at the chance to bring this type of child into their home(s)!

Where did I say abort a child? I would never abort a child. I have a disabled child. He’s 17, autistic, non verbal and severly retarded. Yet he is truly one of the many joys of my life. What I’m saying is NO child whetever he/she be disabled, gay or whatever should be aborted. That said your idea of adoption if a person can not properly care for a disabled child is very good and more people should take that advice.

Kaymart-
**You did not say abort a child 🙂 **
You mentioned aborting babies with Down Syndrome (*people out there running around protesting the abortions of “future Gay Babies” are the same nuts running around “promoting” the abortions of down syndrome and other possible disabled babies. No child should ever be given the death sentence just because he/she may not be “perfect”)…***this is what I was posting about:D **

OK:) I misunderstood:o but again your advice is wonderful, to promote the adoptions of these babies. There are many people out there that would welcome them with open arms.

That is ok…we all misunderstand each other at times.

It is funny how groups who you would assume are pro-choice are starting to get it. The Women’s Bioethics Project (a pro-choice think tank) is starting to understand that pre-natal diagnosis and abortion is killing of a disproportionate amount of women all over the world. I got this from the Women’s Bioethics Project Blog:
"Yes, you are reading that right, folks. A team of fertility specialists at Baylor College of Medicine in Texas will be conducting a trial that involves pre-implanation genetic diagnosis (which has only been used, until now, to identify serious disabilities and potentially life-threatening conditions) to find out why people might select one sex over another. And people are clamoring to get in: there have already been 50 inquiries from would-be parents asking to participate. Can it really be that this is a worthwhile research question? And are we really including selective termination of “wrong-sex” embryos as part of an empirical research protocol? Rumors have been floating around for some time (see Linda Glenn’s earlier blog post re the “GenderMentor” test) that existing direct-to-consumer, mail-order prenatal tests, purportedly designed to help future parents plan for the arrival of their wanted child of either sex (Hmm, shall I buy the pink sleeper or the blue one?), have in fact been used as the basis for sex-based terminations.Just in case you thought the no-girl-babies problem was something that only happened in other countries. . . .

So much for women’s rights. They can’t have their cake and eat it too!

Prejudice I think, pure and simple. I don’t mean to negate the real effort it takes to raise such a child, but I still think it’s simple prejudice. These children are as much a blessing as any able child.
