Hey, gang.
In my quest to read the “definitive” biographies of all the modern Popes, starting from Blessed Pius IX, I have completed Witness to Hope (for John Paul II), *The Rise of Benedict XVI * (for the current Pontiff), and now am almost finished reading Owen Chadwik’s A History of the Popes: 1830-1914 (the best source I could find in lieu of a Pius IX biography in English).
Anyone know of any good biographies of Leo XII, and which one of these is commonly considered “definitive”?
Thanks!
